Joggin’ in heels?

Bright red sox, polka dots, high-heels, bling and a slip?

Horse and riders alike were dressed to the 9’s for the jog and start of the 2012 Rolex Kentucky 3-Day CCI**** Event. A slight breeze and the warm sunny afternoon made for the perfect studio to capture these fashionistas. 43 Americans of 57 total competitors will be moving forward to compete in Dressage over the next 2 days, including Philip Dutton’s mount (1 of 2) Mighty Nice, who had a slip during the jog. After inspection, Mighty Nice was “Accepted” and just left the jog with more dust than he arrived with. Karen O’Conner was stunning in her white suit — and yeah, she rocked the heels while jogging Team Rebecca LLC’s Veronica. Another noteworthy outfit was Allison Springer’s dress – bright teal, black with gold horse bits — go girl! If it was a battle of the sexes, I’d definitely say the women took the win. Although Buck Davidson Jr.’s bright red sox might come in for a close second.

The jog area

Phillip Dutton (USA) & Mighty Nice - it's ok folks, he's fine, just a bit dirtier leaving than when he arrived.

The real inspection

A little dust

Thankfully BOTH were ok and "Accepted"

Lucy Wiegersma (GBR) and Granntevka Prince | Bold and bright no doubt

Karen O'Connor & Mr. Mendicott | Karen rockin' the heels

Go Karen!

Marilyn Little-Meredith rockin' the wedges and black dress

Allison Springer (USA) & Arthur

Bruce ("Buck") Davidson Jr. - Rockin' the red sox with Titanium in tow

IF I had to wear heals, I'd go with wedges on this one

Rider’s remember rider and fellow competitor Amy Tryon who passed away only a few weeks ago.

Laine Ashker (USA) & Anthony Patch | Laine wearing her green ribbon, remembering Amy Tryon

Kristi Nunnink & R-Star | Kirsti also wearing a green ribbon remembering Amy Tryon

Heather Morris (USA) in her bling with Slate River | Also wearing a green ribbon for Amy Tryon

Polka-dot much?
