ABOUT
Cheval Photos (CP) is an award winning boutique photography company owned by Selena Frederick. Birthed out of her deep love for horses, her photography career came to life. Cheval Photos has been published both nationally and internationally in sports and equestrian publications alike. Graduating from the University of Washington with a Bachelor’s in Art, Media, and Culture and a minor in Education, Selena was taught to think and plan beyond the typical, highly sought after, perfect action shot. Capture the moment that tells the story and art is created.
HORSES
Owning and competing aboard her own horses, Selena’s passion for equestrian photography was born out of her love for the horse. Being a rider has brought an advantage to her photography enabling her to capture the perfect moment in time. Shooting all three major disciplines (Dressage, Eventing & Show Jumping) CP travels world wide to shoot the best of the best. From the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF), to Rolex Kentucky 3-Day Event to the World Equestrian Games, and up into Spruce Meadows, CP aims to capture history and tell the story, and capture the bond between these incredible riders and their talented horses around the world.
PEOPLE
Although horses tend to be her primary subject, Selena can be found capturing a wide variety of subjects in between major events. From portraits of people and their horses, to weddings and life/family events — CP creatively captures the art and being of each subject.
